Your backup power system will be installed outdoors, much like an air conditioning unit, and will utilize your home's existing fuel source—either natural gas or liquid propane (LP). The system consists of two main components: the generator and the automatic transfer switch (ATS). The ATS constantly monitors power from your utility supplier, automatically starting the generator and transferring electrical loads if it detects an interruption. When utility power is restored, the ATS seamlessly reverses the process.
